What is a HEIC file?
HEIC is the format an iPhone camera uses by default since iOS 11. It stores each photo with HEVC compression, which keeps the file at roughly half the size of a JPG with the same detail. The catch is that Windows, many Android phones and most website upload forms still refuse to open it.
